South Africa based artists Mondli Zondi has released his debut EP titled “My Everything”
Biography
Mondli was born and raised in KZN, Kwa-Mashu and grew up in the church.
“My first pastor was my grandfather and my first vocal coach was my grandmother, like any other church choirs have ups and downs it was very hard to maintain consistency so my grandmother who was also a recorded artist (Abalindi) decided to train me and my siblings from a young age (around 10) to be a back up choir of which after sometime we ended up being the primary choir for our church branch.”
He then after joined a number of community choirs where he sang in funerals and weddings around Durban.His musical ability grew through these engagements also because in these functions they would sing materials of mature local and international artists that developed a vocal technique and musical ear in my journey.
Mondli is inspired by many artists locally and internationally, especially those who have been in the music industry for many years and have maintained high quality of music which reflects even in their lives.
“I have always been serving in church as a worshipper and my gift grew from just singing songs the holy spirit enabled me to write songs and hear new melodies.”-says Mondli
