About the Song: ‘Trust the Potter’
Back Story;
As I was talking to the Lord about various issues, which I tend to do. A response came to me that I need to trust and follow the Lord as he has constantly reminded me, and not lose my peace, hope and joy.
So as I started playing my guitar this tune and the words “Trust the Potter” came to me and then the rest of the lyrics followed, there were many reminders especially that he has created us for his purpose (the Lord is our Potter and we are the clay to be shaped into his vessels so we are of his use) and we need to live our life and not be stubborn to allow him to mould us for his purpose.
It again has been a difficult one to write & play as it is raw as usual as it is dealing with my inner thoughts.
I have provided scriptures that came to me doing this whole engagement and development of this song (very much an important reminder, a comforting experience and an eye-opening occasion working on this song especially as the Lord wants us to trust him. ‘Our Potter’).

Job 10:8-9
8 Thy hands fashioned and made me; and now thou dost turn about and destroy me. 9 Remember that thou hast made me of clay; and wilt thou turn me to dust again?
Job 33:6
6 Behold, I am toward God as you are; I too was formed from a piece of clay.
Isaiah 29:15-16
15 Woe to those who hide deep from the Lord their counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?” 16 You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay; that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?
Isaiah 45:9-13
9 “Woe to him who strives with his Maker, an earthen vessel with the potter! Isaiah 64:7-9

Jeremiah 18:1-9
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4 And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do. 5 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? says the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. 7 If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, 8 and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will repent of the evil that I intended to do to it. 9 And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it.
Romans 9:19-28
19 You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” 20 But who are you, a man, to answer back to God? Will what is moulded say to its moulder, “Why have you made me thus?” 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for beauty and another for menial use?
22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the vessels of wrath made for destruction, 23 in order to make known the riches of his glory for the vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory, 24 even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? 25 As indeed he says in Hose ′a, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘my beloved.’” 26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’” 27 And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved; 28 for the Lord will execute his sentence upon the earth with rigor and dispatch.”
2 Corinthians 4:7-10
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

ABOUT PATHWAY TO GRACE
Who is ‘Pathway to Grace’; we are a collective of Christians that are willing to serve and glorify our Heavenly Father and his son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The offering of our service through the form of songs has been inspired by our Lord Jesus Christ for the upbuilding and encouragement of those who also have faith in a saviour, who sacrificed himself and died for us and through his great love has given us a pathway to receive a grace that is not able to be matched in this world, and provided us a great hope of eternal life.
